stomach pain monthly

I have a pain in my lower stomach on the left side, does anyone know what it can be?

I haven’t started my monthly and I was wondering if that was a sign I am gonna start or is there a chance that I can be pregnant. No funny answers please be truthful or don’t answer. Thanks

for a female there are only two things in your lower left abdomen, an ovary and your bowel. You may have an ovarian cyst getting ready to rupture and release an egg, or you may be constipated. Either way, the discomfort should pass within a day or two.

abdominal pain hard abdomen

abdominal pain?

I have been feeling for the last couple of weeks as if i were pregnant, sleeping a lot more than usual, nausea, dizzy spells. My last period was short and light and is usually long and heavy. I didn’t think I could be because I hadn’t remembered having sex in the last 3-4 months. The only time I could remember in that time period was last night. This all started before that.
This morning I got a sharp pain in my lower abdomen and it then went away. Soon after I got a headache and took a Tylenol. A couple of hours later, the abdominal pain came back really bad. I then took motrin and it’s still there but not as bad. My stomach began to swell a little and now my whole body is slightly swollen.
I thought hard about it and I do remember now a drunken night with my ex a month and a half ago which resulted in me sleeping with him.
My sis has told me to go to the hospital, that it may be a tubal pregnancy, but I don’t know what to do, I have to be at work in 30 min.
Any ideas??????

Stop by a store and grab a home pregnancy test on your way to work. Most gas stations have them, or Walmart, or a drug store, etc. *usually* a tubal pregnancy will be discovered before the pregnancy is 6 weeks (a month and a half, as you recall) along. Most are discovered before the woman has missed a period (which usually happens ~2 weeks after conception) due to other symptoms. First things first though, you need to determine if you are pregnant at all. If you have to take a day off, then take a day off. Your and that of your possible child is more important than any job you will ever have. Good luck!

abdominal pain specialist

How do you live with abdominal adhesions?

So, Pending my cytoscope, my doctor believes I have abdominal adhesions from my appendectomy in 2003. I had an acute case, with perforation and peritonitis.

Will they do Surgery to remove them? Am I looking at a lifelong chronic disease where I have to see a pain specialist?
He said after my cytoscope he will do exploratory surgery to diagnose them, though he fairly sure that i have them.

Adhesions are basically scar tissue that develops after surgery.
Surgery (lysis of adhesions) to remove them is not usually done unless they are causing problems such as severe pain or causing bowel obstruction.
Good luck!

lower right abdominal pain ulcer

Pain in my upper right quaderaunt (abdominal)?

I have a pain in my upper abdomen, its under my right ribcage. The pain is a little closer to the center of my stomach, but it does spread throughout my entire right upper side, from my stomach to my back. (going in the right hand direction) I have had blood test done to rule out my liver, I’m on medication to rule out a stomach ulcer. The pain occasionally radiates downward towards my hips, but theres no pain originating in my lower abdomen. Im not sure what to do next. Can anyone help?
i appreciate the answers so far, my only problem is they’ve already had an ultra-sound and an x-ray done, with no results. I’m completly lost on what to do next.

That sounds like gallbladder pain. It may just be inflamed, or you may have gallstones forming. Ask your doctor for an ultrasound of your gallbladder & they can almost always see the stones on it. If that’s the case, there are a few things you can do but most end up having surgery with the scope. Stones can be related to diet or they can just appear for no reason at all – it’s maddening.

(If the pain were originating from your liver, you would probably have other symptoms besides pain – like *severe* bloating, feeling of fullness when you’ve only eaten a little, change in bowel habits, and extreme fatigue.)

Sometimes you can have a gallbladder “attack” that just needs to settle – no surgery warranted. I hope that’s the case for you!

~ Good Luck ~

lower abdominal pain drinking alcohol

Lower back pains, ultrasound costs too much.?

My boyfriend has been experiencing serious internal pains located on the lower left-side of his back. He has no insurance and they want him to get an ultrasound. He can’t afford the abdominal ultrasound(200-1000 USD). His symptoms sound like a Kidney infection to me. Do they sound like that to you, or a different problem?

1. Fever, nausea, loss of appetite
2. Loss of energy
3. Difficulty urinating
4. Dull aching pains that sometimes shift to stabbing pains
5. The pain gets worse with laughing

The problems started after he drank a lot of sodas and drank alcohol. it’s been going on now for two weeks. The pain is getting so bad, he doesn’t even want to leave his bed.

Tell your boyfriend to talk to his doctor (the one who wants him to have an ultrasound) and just be honest, something can be worked out. Don’t let him, let this go, it could be serious.
Now a part of the 1988 Universal Care Law, requires that hospitals and centers are REQUIRED to provide free or low cost care to uninsured people regardless of their citizenship or immigrant status. Get him to the ER. Pain is always a warning,
